Hello! This week’s topic is Top Ten New-To-Me Author I read this year!(They are also my favorites). 2013 is just awesome, I discovered a lot of awesome books and amazing authors this year. Here’s my list:
1.Renee Carlino – Author of Sweet Thing
You. Guys. She’s just amazing. She’s the first author I’ve ever talked to! Sweet Thing is her first book. I loved it! I even recommended it to my RL friends. I loved the slowness of the book, Mia and Will they’re just so perfect for each other. <3
2. Michelle Hodkin – Author of Mara Dyer Trilogy
Even though I hated The Evolution of Mara Dyer. I still love this lady. I mean, she’s the one who wrote Noah Freaking Shaw. She’s like the mother of the awesome and sexy Noah Freaking Shaw. I liked her writing style. I got goose bumps when I was reading The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer.
3. Rainbow Rowell – Author of Attachments
If you read my review of Attachments you know that I was terrified of this lady. She’s just so popular. But, yeah, finally read Attachments her first novel and I loved it so fucking much.
4. Katie Cotugno – Author of How To Love
I still can’t freaking believe that How To Love is her debut novel. Like, seriously, wow, just wow. I so loved HTL. Just amazing. Her writing style, the way the characters developed. Yes, I’m deeply madly in love with Sawyer LeGrande.
5. Jessica Park – Author of Flat-Out Love
I just want to say thank you to my friend. She’s the one who told me to read Flat-Out Love. Now I’m going to read whatever Jessica Park writes.
6. Jess Rothenberg – Author of The Catastrophic History of You and Me
Again, amazing. TCHYAM is Jess’s first novel. Like, wow. I saw this book on Goodreads and the cover is eye-catching. The book was funny but heart-breaking at the same time. I loved all the music references. I definitely saw a glimpse of Jess’s personality in here. She’s one of authors I really love to meet.
7. Jay Asher – Author of Thirteen Reasons Why
Man. This guy. Just hands down. Thirteen Reasons Why is one the first book that gave me a huge book hang over.
8. Emma Chase – Author of Tangled
What the fuck. Just what the fuck. I mean, just amazing. This is one of the a few NA books I really, really loved. This lady rocks. A man’s pov? Seriously. Amazing. Woman.
9. Kody Keplinger – Author of The DUFF
I fell in love with Kody’s writing style and her characters. They’re just so fucking realistic.
10. Veronica Roth – Author of Divergent
Okay. Let me explain. I only discovered Veronica Roth this year, nope, I’m not a freaking bandwagon. I saw Divergent on Goodreads, I didn’t know that it was really popular. I immediately read it because the blurb sounds amazing. And it’s dystopian, like The Hunger Games. (I’m not comparing them or anything, just saying that they are both dystopian, so calm ‘yo tits lol) I loved Veronica and her books. And joining the fandom is one of the best things that ever happened to me. I met a lot of people because of her books. I haven’t read Allegiant because I saw a huge fucking spoiler.Ugh. :(
